Alaska really sounds like a PARADISE! (No sarcasm). Can't wait to make it up there one of these days. I still would love to find a place to spend a year or two, if not a lifetime should I love it as much as I think I would.

I just wanted to know what the warmest or hottest temperatures in Alaska were and got answers of high 70's to 90's for very few days. Confirms my beliefs that I would never want to set foot there. Love watching programs about the state on TV, but that is about as close as I want to be. I don't think I will complain so much about temperatures in Chicago any more. I think I would lose my mind if my summers only reached temps in the 70's.

Yes, but days are much longer in the summer so even 65 can be for many hours and this is nice enough to walk around in but not sweat much. Even nice to work outside.

And I'd lose my mind if I had to deal with temperatures much above 70 degrees for any length of time...

I live in northern Illinois. 60 years old. I know lots of people who want to move south to escape cold and snowy winters. But I want to move north to escape hot summers. The summer temperatures in Seward sound perfect.

Seward is drier than Chicago in the summer.

Generally, I don't mind rain. But I'd probably have to experience Seward first hand for a while to see if the rain there is too much.
