Hi! My husband and I are planning a visit to NM in July. I know, its gonna be hot, but this is the only time we have to travel. We will need accommodations once arrive in Albuquerque, Taos and Santa Fe. Would appreciate recommendations. We are both seniors. Thank You!

Recent thread for Albuquerque hotels:

https://www.city-data.com/forum/albu...void-hood.html

I have an out of town friend who likes the Best Western Plus Rio Grande off Rio Grande mentioned in the above thread. It is near Old Town, the Botanical Garden, etc. There is also the Hotel Albuquerque a little closer to Old Town and the more expensive Hotel Chaco.

Recent thread for Santa Fe with some good hotel recommendations at different price points:

Moderate Priced Hotel for Tourists (Albuquerque, Santa Fe: hotels, buying, movies) (Note: I cannot seem to copy the link but the thread is on the first page of the listing of Santa Fe threads).

We haven't stayed in Taos in awhile, but we always liked the Taos Inn. I've heard good things about the LaFonda de Taos. The LaFonda in Santa Fe is also first class.

I stayed at La Fonda during my April trip to Santa Fe. It was pricey but on my bucket list and I loved it. Inn on the Alameda is also nice. I plan to take a similar week long trip to Taos in the fall once we are out of the busy tourist season and definitely want to stay at Taos Inn.

Both of those Taos hotels are historic and have a certain aura about them that I like. You might need to inquire about their restaurants or food service. I was at the La Fonda in Taos about two weeks ago and things are still slow and not operating on schedule. Don't believe what the published hours are on the internet. By July it might be better. Both hotels are near the Plaza. I like the Sagebrush Inn (also historic) but it is a bit out of the action. El Monte Sagrado is okay but the spa and pool operation was suspended for COVID.

You can get an Airbnb at Earthship if that interests you.

Love the Sagebrush Inn. Stayed there about five years ago in a suite - could hear coyotes yipping. Love it.
Used to stay here when I was in a ski club and skiied Taos.

Most of these recommendations are for hotels, not motels. Some people prefer a motel where you can drive up to your door and unload your car. Would help if you could specify the type of accommodation you're looking for, if you have a preference.
