I was able to tolerate that for around 40 seconds, before I had to shut it off. I advise anyone with hearing loss of lower ranges, or sensitivity to mid-range, with the loss more pronounced in only one ear, to *not* listen to the mp3 on that website.
It's a single-note drone at first, with piano accompaniment after awhile. I don't know what came after that - as I said I had to shut it off. The reverberations of that tone gave me heart palpitations after the first 20 seconds. I figured I'd push through that - which I did (they only last a half dozen beats), but the left-to-right wave of the tone was just too much for my already-compromised sense of balance to handle.
I'd compare it to someone with epilepsy having to watch a strobe light.
The use of tuning forks is my preferred application of sound/vibrational therapy. It has proven to be quite effective in some areas but not in others. About 4 years ago, my dentist told me that a certain tooth was likely to need a root canal, and he showed me the dark spot on the x-ray. For the next year, on a daily basis, I religiously applied a certain frequency tuning fork to the root area of that tooth by holding the base of the vibrating tuning fork firmly against my check in the area of the troubled tooth. When I went for my annual check-up a year later, the dark spot on the x-ray was gone. He was rather surprised to say the least. Four years later, still no root canal. Also applied tuning fork therapy to improve my vision, hoping to avoid cataract surgery, but there was no improvement after daily applications for about a year.
