I have chronic sinus inflammation (no mucus) and irrigation helps a lot. If you have an infection (yellow/green secretions) you should see a doctor if it persists.

I just want to say that I know what it's like not to have health insurance. But, please, don't mess around and wait too long for some of these issues. I knew a guy who thought he had a sinus infection. In fact, I believe one of his doctors thought so, too. He waited and waited to get better and ended up with cancer in his sinus cavity and had to have it removed as well as having reconstructive surgery. It isn't anything to wait too long on.
Yes, it could be something more serious. Also, an untreated infection can lead to scarring that makes one prone to recurring infections, there could also be polyps. It's not something you want to let go, it could end up costing a lot more in the long run. There are docs who will give a discount to cash patients, and you can get generic medications.
I have chronic sinus pain and pressure and I mentioned it to my chiropractor a week or so ago and he said he can help me with that. He applied pressure to the sinuses and told me I may feel them draining later on, and I did, in just a few minutes.
The pain was almost all but gone. He did it once more a couple of days later and I was set!
I do not have the frontal sinuses and I don't know if that is why I am prone to sinus infections, pain and pressure but whatever he did helped.
He felt them yesterday and said they were soft where they were pretty hard and blocked before.
I pay for him out of pocket as my insurance doesn't cover and it is 35 per visit. The initial visit was more, 85.
It started in my nose like a cold at first. Endless globs of snot in clear, yellow and green form.
Then it went to my chest and been coughing like mad and hacking up large globs of mucus and flem. All of that is almost gone now, but the last two days have been headaches and pressure behind/below my left eye and socket. Also my left ear....it's always draining liquid, pressure and wax off..way more then normal. It also pops too with air bubble pressure reliefs.
Don't know for sure what THIS is/was....but I've had it for like 2 weeks also accompanied by fever and extreme sweating. Just drowning in sweat out in the summer heat. Seems like gallons worth.
I'm glad I'm on the final stretch...I didn't take anything for it, just gutted it out.

I really feel for you. I live on mucinex, and antihistamines (loratizine). I have no medical insurance right now.
I cough within 15 minutes of sitting up in the morning, which leads me to believe it is dripping from my sinuses. When I am lying down, I'm asymptomatic.
Honestly it makes me feel like not getting up in the morning.
