Brazil actually seem messier and uglier to me that the other countries on google earth. IF you go to google earth to those border towns between brazil and argentina you'll see the big difference between the Brazilian versus the Argentinian side.

Ok the problem with tourist guides is that after you spend 10 years doing the same thing over and over and over, believe me, it gets boring. Besides, you have to wake up very early sometimes around 2:30 in the morning because the ship or the plane is arriving at 5:00 am and you have to travel from the Pacific to the Atlantic to get those tourists, or just wait for them when they arrive at the airport and you don´t know when you are going to finish with them, so there were times when I went back home at 11:00pm and had to be up again by 2:30am for another tour.

Also, you have to be extremely nice to them because you are the face of your country. Most of the time, tourists can be super nice, but there are others, who can be a truly pain in the arse for no reason at all, just because they want to be mean to you. Then, you will find those who are sex perverts and want to have sex with you right there and then and believe me, they can do some serious sexual harassment and if you say something to them, they just simply complain about you. But as I said, most of them are very nice and tip you gooooooood too, yet there are others, who bug the hell out of you asking you all sort of questions, for instance, How many days do you have in your week?

The problem is that you cannot change History and you have to say the same thing over and over and over till you drop. There were some other reasons, but these are the main ones why I quitted that job.

You had me at waking up early (I do not get up before 6:30 am unless I am going to the airport to go somewhere fun and literally do not want to speak to anyone before 8:30 am even when getting paid to do so) and being really nice all the time to people that are not legally cognitively impairment that could be really annoying ... might be tempted to accidently forget to let a few people back on the bus . I would be fired day one lol. Never mind.... I got a few other dream jobs that might allow me more flexible hours.

I did notice in the Hard Rock Hotel caption that everyone pictured having a great time at the club very fair skinned coloured European loooking compared to the rest of the typical population . Just saying .. interesting to note. If you look at the other clips of regular local people pictures in other places... very different representation. This little possible subconscious example in the video clip from the Hard Rock Hotel are suddle reminders of social issues like this continue to be present. I pick up on these differences everywhere I have travell in the Caribbean and Latin America. The most ironic example was in Cuba, which claims to be a socialist nation where everyone is equal... yet in the tourism industry I have only ever seen fair skinned more european looking people working as guides, managers, bartenders or at the front desks and all the darker skin or afro-cuban people working in the hotel cleaning or cooking. This is also visble in North American culture too so I am not saying we are perfect (Mexico, the USA and Canada have huge issues with this too as usually only the most european looking people from minorities groups get represented in the media). I do agree with the meh idea about the canal.... if I actually got to go shopping ..... well that would have completely made me love the canal trip. I honestly got the idea that we would have been able to go shopping... but we just saw the ships with all the stuff good bye . When comparing Panama to other popular vacation destinations it still has vast opportunties for improvement. When peole like me for example are on vacation they want to have something to do 24 7 if they choose too. The resort I was at met most of those needs. However it lacked easy city access. If I went again as tempting as the resort option is. I would probably just rent a car and move from place to place because I actually would be more interested in meeting more local people and going to places that the average local person would go to.

Well I just told you, if you are planning to come back to Panama, do it in the month of January or in the middle of February because I am on vacations and can help you around.
