I haven't spoken Spanglish in at least 15 years and I couldn't do it today subconsciously, in either language

Spanglish?
Speak it every time I visit family and friends in South Florida/Miami-Dade County.

I try not to do it, it shows poor culture. More and more native Spanish speakers are now constantly bringing English words into their Spanish without reason or in a snobbish way, because they don't have a reading habit and their knowledge of their native language is very poor.

Spanglish the official language here in Miami. Even Brazilians in South Florida speak it

Spanglish is an abomination of Spanish.

Makes me cringe every time I hear it.

Spanglish is mostly ghetto, you don't see too many educated people speaking it. They speak both English and Spanish well enough to differentiate.

Lol, my husband (Brazilian) has been speaking alot of Spanglish lately and it drives me NUTS. I keep telling him to choose one language and to stick to it. Lol

When you live in a multilingual household, it is quite inevitable to mix languages. But, when the mixed parts become a permanent language, it's too much, haha.

It's a mainstay on the border in southern New Mexico and is an unpretentious, necessary means of communicating. Nobody holds it up as a paragon of virtuous linguistic morality but it helps people get things done.
