Excellent advice, thank you! I like to be somewhat near schools because the houses near them usually hold their value better, but I hadn't considered this.

Airport Heights could be another match as well as parkstrip area. Airport Heights tends to be a more liberal enclave with a neighhood feeling, according to friends who live there. The trail system runs near both areas. Lots of granola to be had at New Sagaya near parkstrip LOL.

I am partial to College Gate neighborhood up against APU groomed ski trails for skiing or hiking/biking in the summer.

Unless you live in a condo or apartment & then they take care of all that for you. Or you can pay someone else to do it for you. So there are several options for snow removal.

The city removes snow from residential neighorhoods & businesses do their own parking lots. Lots of huge snow piles in town to which it is all removed!

Nice map. My kids just bought in a lovely neighborhood (Kensington Park) just off Baxter in the University area. Its the kind of place where the same people have owned their homes for years and pride of ownership is quite evident. Their previous home was at the edge of Scenic Foothills and the Muldoon Park at 32nd, still a nice area.

There are lots of nice neighborhoods in Anchorage with green space, either trails or bogs or lakes. I think its a very pretty city, much more enjoyable than living on the dusty plains like I do.
