Maybe they did. I've never heard of such carnage. Cracked windshield, busted headlights, clogged radiator and other damage but never that.

I've driven the alcan twice and didn't get any damage on the cars. We did drive a u-haul up the second go around but it wasn't a trailer. I think the damage you wound up with is a result of towing your car and the rocks kicked up from your truck hitting the car you were towing behind.

Not sure how fast you were travelling over the gravel patches but sounds like you might have been going too fast with the damage you incurred.

Well , I din't drive like funeral that's truth. But U Haul truck has been loaded that's truth. So , weight of truck pushed down the truck that eliminated kick up those gravel stones. The front of my car has not been damaged, Too.much. The worst of damaged have been driver and passenger doors and slightly door behind. Have you ever seen those Canadian truck with trailer transporting oil or something. If, those truck speed up on the gravel highway. It was like hell of stones flying of them. They even crack windshield on U Haul truck. Oncoming truck with trailer it was very heavy dust flying and gravel stones like hell. I never seen something like that in my life. Well , NJ doesn't have such roads. Just go to Fairbanks and take it " Dalton Highway " you won't recognize you car by Polar Circle.
GEICO agent couldn't believed such damage , but my car is auto body shop and Geico is paying for everything . Of course I am up set my lovely car has been damaged. If , I knew it in NJ I would buy car cover and put around car folded cardboard boxes like protection. But I didn't Yukon highway can be disaster and most of people know that

It sounds like something either went very wrong or you had unusually bad luck. I've driven both the Alcan and the Dalton and only got a couple small windshield chips. I've never heard of a case as bad as you're describing, actually.

It's better to just accept the gravel chips and cracks on the windshield and paint job. There will only be many more chips and cracks, no need to stress about it or fix them .

You should have gotten one of these and cut out the windows so you could see while driving:

Anything that's not nailed down or locked up in Anchorage is fair game. And from the amount of video I've seen they operate 24/7. Lady left her car door open as she was carrying her groceries inside. As she was unlocking the house door you can see the thief walk right over to her car snatch her purse and a couple of grocery bags. Nothing is safe.

I've driven the Dalton many times too. I've never seen the damage you are describing but hopefully your insurance will cover it.
