Watson Lake (Yukon) going to be highlight of stop through canada. we will see. I will be posting pictures of whole trip on blog worldpeacenews.com. some pictures I hope too with same day postings. I would consider sleeping in truck, car if not safe. yes indeed.

Bob, I'd say it's a safe place to sleep, very tiny community. I'm just saying stay away from the food there if at all possible....or at least don't get anything with salad dressing. I had an individual packet of Kraft Ranch that I ate with my fries. I looked for the date and didn't see one, that's when I should have decided not to eat it! My Mom and I had the exact same meal except that I had the ranch. I'm the only one who got sick. As far as the motels, they're not the worst on the continent, but definitely not good. Be prepared to hear your neighbor's every move, to maybe see a few bugs, get a room that isn't exactly clean, and have water going hot, cold, hot, cold on you every 5 seconds (the locals were not the friendliest bunch either). Good luck with that!

The Airforce Bed & Breakfast in Watson Lake is very nice, one of the nicer places to stay. It's very clean and quiet. Call ahead for reservations there. The Deli at the main gas station next to the Sign Post Forest has great food. There is a lodge between Watson Lake and the Cassiar has good food, too.

I believe most here don't recommend it. From the description in the Milepost, I'd agree. It's best to get on the Alcan to Whitehorse.

yes however more chance of Wildlife and remote stops. Highway 37. In Whitehorse start Alcan. Mr bob would stay in Skagway for one or two weeks. then go back to Whitehorse than Alcan.

If you hit the animal Bob...or a large mammal is lying across the road, then I'd suggest reporting it...otherwise...I wouldn't concern yourself too much with road kill.
Unless of course your hungry. Then think of it as free food.
