on the way up before Canada. stay in cheep hotels. Eight days before getting into Edmonton. one of the hotel stays find one with Hot Spa. use it several times and forget feelings of long road trip. every night I should pull in between 6 pm to 8 pm. Grate Falls Montana and Edmonton Canada is eight hours. 500 miles.. so two fuel stops is safe bet. travel on more populated road such as Highway 2.

Watch for speed traps when on Highway 2 between Calgary and Edmonton, when you come to small towns between the two, they barely give you enough time to slow down on this divided highway. Speed limit is in KPH and not MPH.

"New day new Scenery" one day at a time drive several hours up to eight. every five or six days rest for two full days if needed. have money for hotels. AAA auto club card will save little money at hotels.

When you start seeing a four lane where there is supposed to be a two lane, pull over to the next rest area, the next one will seem like it takes forever to get to. Don't fight your sleep, pull over and take a power nap and afterwards, stretch out a bit. It's dangerous driving tired, it's like driving under the influence.

No caffeine soda drinks after 4 pm. be able to sleep good at night. limit caffeine soda drinks three or four per day. good rule = every six days. rest for two full days at hotel or campground.
