I'd love to live in those old country houses built with solid stones plus timber and surrounded by gardens, chicken-runs and stuff, something like this.

I've never actually been in one but I see all those California bungalows, arts and crafts type houses in movies and just drool over all the interior woodwork, large windows, big porches, tiled fire places, Mission and arts and crafts are favorite furniture types. Not a fan of the ???? type of arts and crafts with the high skinny windows though. I love windows.

From a practical perspective a small plain jane ranch or anything with main floor living is what I want to live in since I'm older.

Something like this. Best of all worlds. Victorian style, brick, sizable, no front/side yards, but room for some plantings in the front.

That nameplate is tacky as all hell though. They should have gold-leaf lettering on the transom window.

Something modern. I live in a modern styled home now but I'd like to build one myself one day.

I would second this in my favorites list. Wonderful detail in this home.

I guess I like Modern a bit more than Victorian, lol. They each look great though.

Palladian, Classical revival or English Georgian. On the modern side, ones that are designed by Richard Meier.
