Don't move to the Tri-City area if you are looking for Liberal/Progressive and Democratic. It is disgusting Republican and John McCain visits often to Prescott.

I don't doubt that, but I also don't think Goldwater would be too thrilled with what modern "libertarians" and, to a lesser extent, the Tea Party are doing in his name.

You're right about the "Arizona type" tea party movement. He wrote specifically about how the religious right was a detriment to the country. If a anything he would be a Ran Paul supporter

I tend to thinkk of Maricopa County as pretty far right compared to the rest of Arizona

I think Goldwater would be pleased with Ron Paul and Gary Johnson as well as folks within the Libertarian Party (especially some of the ones in AZ). He would also like some aspects of the Tea Party. Despite what our "unbiased" media wants Americans to believe the Tea Party isn't just Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.
