I am considering a move to Yuma later this Spring. The info I am aware of was posted in threads dated two years ago. I am taking into accounts the info that I ALREADY know:

- Very hot in August & September, snowbirds in the winter, poor school systems, not much to do

+ Low crime, reasonable cost of living, good living in the Foothills area, close proximity to San Diego & Phoenix

What else should I be aware of? Did they ever build more parks and shopping centers since two years ago? Anybody know of any good places to rent apartments or office space? I am self-employed.

No recent parks in the last 2 years. The Yuma Fun Factory has reopened, but unless you have kids, you probably won't care.
Look for decent apartments in town alone Ave B between 12th st and 24th st.

Not sure what kind of office you are interested in, but guessing by your log in name, I'd say medical. There is a fairly new office complex going in on Ave B near ~27th or 28th street called Tuscan Village. It is mostly Medical offices.
You might also look in the Ave A and 24th street area, it is right across from the Hospital, and there were several vacant medical offices there last May.

That's relative. If you're coming from the surface of the sun, then yes only August and September are hot. For those living on Earth, it's hot from April through the end of October. Very, very hot from May until mid October. I've seen Thanksgiving in the 90's.

Low crime? Sure, if you live in a larger city in the ghetto regions, then Yuma has lower crime but in the big scheme of things, there is more crime than most places of its size, they just do a good job covering it up. Most of the crime stats are for Yuma proper and they leave out the surrounding area just outside the bounds of the city.

Since the o/p is not from the area, why not provide actual stats and a link instead of making broad statements? That would be more helpful to him.
