Consider the comfort factor:

Snow, Bitter Cold, Heat, Dust, Flooding, etc ...

What is the worst aspect of the weather of the place that you chose ?

Year round I would say the Prescott/Prescott Valley area. The elevation is perfect not too cold in the winter and not too unbearably hot in the summer. The Valley has the best winters though. Nothing like walking around and shopping at the outdoor mall in 65 degrees with my white chocolate mocha (Ugh can it be winter yet :/).

I put "other" as in Cottonwood and Camp Verde. Perfect elevations at 3300 feet to get a touch of all 4 seasons without the extreme heat of Phoenix or extreme cold of Flagstaff. I am sure Prescott will be a popular choice but too cold and snowy in the winter for me to vote it #1.

Actually, the summer furnace year after year resides in Lake Havasu City for some reason despite it being higher elevation than Yuma. Maybe the Gulf of California influences Yuma more with increased humidity to keep temps down a few degrees from LHC. Regardless, the two least desirable places I'd personally live in the state.

I enjoy Lake Havasu in the winter and early Spring, and Yuma never! Except for the Cracker Barrel that California sadly lacks, Yuma does that that going for it, but the weather is Yuck!

I agree with you Cottonwood has the best weather in my book, not too hot and very little snow, and it has pretty green areas, views to Sedona, the drive to Jerome etc. Prescott has too much snow for this CA girl.

Sierra Vista has the closest to Cali weather from what other posters here of CDF have said.

Sierra Vista and Nogales get a fair amount of snow at 4000 plus feet during the winter. Not sure it is comparable to a major city of CA. However, it kind of has the vibe of Banning and Beaumont,CA climatically. Where desert meets greenery and gets a few accumulating snowfalls each year while seldomly breaking 105 in the summer.
