-highway 512, but most of the road is dirt. 74 miles of dirt and nature.

Welcome to Arizona, maverick974. I lived full time in AZ from '97 to '03 and explored the state every chance I got. When I take vacations from here in WA, 90% have been back to AZ.

You ain't seen nothing yet. Try going Mesa -> Globe -> Safford -> Morenci -> Eagar -> Show Low -> Payson -> Mesa.

You haven't gone to Monument Valley yet?

Even heading back down US60 from Show Low to Globe is pretty pretty.

And then someday you'll want to get a high clearance vehicle for some of the dirt roads. You could spend years in your spare time exploring all that there is in the backcountry of AZ. Reddington, the Chiricahuas, backroads from Tombstone to Pearce, around Sonoita, the Bradshaws, Rim road; that list is endless. . . .

Yeah, you'll be on vacation for a long, long, long time.
