I am debating whether to go from Kingman to PHX or take US 95 from Needles to Blythe ? I am pretty sure it is all 2 lane highway on US95 for 100 miles but wondered if Going thru Kingman would be easier and perhaps quicker. Those with experience , please comment. Thanks !

I'm going to take a big leap here and assume you meant to ask for the best route from Las Vegas to Phoenix. If that's what you meant, 93 through Kingman is an hour shorter than the 95/Needles/Blythe route.

Sorry, perhaps I should have stated my plan, I am going from I-5 to I-10 but trying to avoid LA metro. I know about AZ 85 bypass and can take that if going on US95. I am not adverse to drive through PHX but really want to avoid LA. I have done the Palmdale -Lancaster to I-15 via Pearland CA130 but that is very busy and a dangerous highway. One question, is US93 4 lane from PHX to Kingman . AZ85 is a great highway even if not interstate.

If you're going on US 93 in Arizona, most of the road is 4 lane divided highway. There are some long 2 lane stretches, but not as bad as years ago. Slowly but surely all of 93 will be worked on eventually.

Thanks to those responses. I am sitting here in Kingman tonight. I decided to go this way rather than get to I 10 quicker through US95 or Pearland and CA130 to I 15. We shall see about AZ93 tomorrow.

93 is far more scenic and direct. Pies at Luchia's in Wikeiup, Burro Creek Camground and joshua trees between Santa Maria River and Wickenburg. I enjoy the rollercoaster ride and yes, it is mostly 4 lane except for near Wikeiup and the joshua tree area. That is a source of contention with I 11. That joshua tree area is very unique and preservation should be of high importance.

Update: Drove this way yesterday. It is a beautiful drive. Love the views and Joshua trees ( like in the Mojave in CA) and the vistas. Pretty easy drive and not a whole lot of traffic. Some trucks but not as bad a I-10 . LOL
