I'm a veteran of the US Army, 4 years active duty from the 1970s. I don't see the need to advertise or boast about my veteran status with a vehicle license plate. I find it somewhat tacky, which is also why I don't wear caps or shirts blazoned with US Army or something like that on them. What's the point?

I have veteran status noted on my driver's license, but that is only to present when needed for a specific reason to show that I am a veteran.

Are you not proud of supporting individualism or served the country by having a different plate? People should be allowed to do so without feeling shame.

Just e-mailed Senator McSally regarding the license plates. Also contacted the United States Navy scholarship foundation program, they're doing more research on it. Getting closer to something.

As the previous poster asked "what is the point?" I don't know anyone with a military plate and I know lots of vets.

Reminds me of my dad, army vet before and during WW2, getting pissed when he saw a veteran gravestone when he knew the person wasn't poor, the original reason for them.

Sounds like a flat out lie to me.

It's been approved by the governor last year, SB1338. Will take a few months to come up with 7 official license plate designs.

As an Army vet of some 6 years, 66-72, frankly I refuse to pay extra to have a plate saying I am a vet.
Just stupid in my opinion.
