One of the best green Chile burros in town.

By the way....do any other areas in AZ call burritos burros, or is that just a upper Gila Valley thing?

I almost always call them burros.....though I may be wrong, I heard that "burrito" was a term created to placate wary Americans who thought burros contained donkey meat.....the linked wiki article upthread doesn't mention this possibility, but I don't know.....

In Spanish it's a "burro", and the suffix "...ito", just means that it's smaller. So if you were in Mexico buying from a street vender, a "burro" would be the big one, whereas a "burr+ito" would be a skinny miniature burro.

The only reason that they are referred to as "burritos" here in the United States is because Mexican food has become very popular with non-Spanish speakers and it became common place to use the wrong terminology.

If that's the case, it would behoove Mexican-owned eating establishments here in America to teach us foreigners the proper way to order by explaining the difference between burro and burrito on their menus.

Lol, it's not a big deal man, nobody's complaining, I just saw that people on this thread were interested in finding the correct terminology so I thought I'd share.
