I'm in San Tan and a couple of hours ago I looked north/northwest/west and thought hooooboy! It's on its way. But it has been super quiet. We'll see what the next few hours bring.

More carnage yesterday afternoon. Downed trees everywhere, house shingles on the road, power outages. This monsoon season has been destructive as heck!

Wow. Just wow. Last night was one major reason I am glad to be back home in AZ. The sky was lit up like the fourth of July! Constant flashing, much thunder, and my favorite, some real close thunderclaps! I sat out on my front porch and though I couldn't quite see any bolts because of being in the trees it was totally awesome. I may have had a couple of barley pops because I think I remember doing some whooping at the couple of real close ones. Sorry neighbors, hehe.

And it rained as well of course during the whole event. Nothing damaging up here, except after it was all done the internet went down for almost twelve hours until mid morning today. Funny thing though. I guess just as soon as I decided to leave the front porch, so did the storm. Just stopped.

Making it just a terrible thing, hehe.

It's kind of cool when it is almost more light than dark. After the sun sets and it's supposed to be dark.

And then for a bit it wa a "Awe Hail" moment. But now it is just rain, nice.

And although it is flashing very good and often, nothing is closer than a couple of miles.

Not like last night. Had a couple of flash bangs last night.

Sounds like it would be fun to watch. We're getting thunder but no rain yet. Last night it was thunder and lightning but little rain. When I was at the store someone mentioned that it goes all around us because of the mountains.

Yes, Sunday night I was out on the porch just watching the light dance around the sky and all the weird flashing shadows and such. And then the close thunder just adds to the show.

Scary loud thunder right now. Love it. It rained a little bit today, hoping this thunder means more is on the way.

Well, I can quit complaining about no rain now. Had a HUGE deluge yesterday. Front and back yard totally flooded and the street too. Lost more dirt/rocks along the street. It's turning into a ditch out there. And the end of my driveway is going to require some work. Today we had another one but not nearly as bad.
