Kingman is one of those towns that you really need to get off the hwy and explore. It's got some really historic places and I think the bad economy has really stopped some of the restoration of some of the businesses. Last winter we took a jeep ride up by Mineral Park and it was beautiful. Then stopped in Kingman for lunch and some beers....fun time.

I always marvel that some people look at the beautiful desert, and say "There's nothing out there !" Oh but there is. Teeming with life, and a disinfecting heat. Mirages. Clean air. Dust devils. Dead trucks from 1930. Weird plants.

Default I have to agree

Peggy ann, I have to agree with you about the life that is out in the desert. My dad when I was young would tell me that I was his little desert rat, for i never wanted to come in from the desert. So many wonderous things to see and hear. As for Kingman, it is the neatest place. Why there is so many things to do. I would live there before living in BHC.
And I have family there. Being from the Midwest and knowing how to live in the heat that is sweltering, I think the desert quite tame.

And if you would get interested in Geocaching Geocaching - The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site you would be out and about exploring parts of the area you never knew were there.

I have to agree with this post i have lived here for 20 years and the elementary schools are fine but the high school is terrible. The teachers dont care if the students learn anything or not, some of them don't even have the credentials that a teacher is suppose to have to teach. The job situation is terrible. There are gangs, tweekers, theives, and alot of crooked officials. Especially the police officers. Their is no office for the electric or gas company anymore because they were afraid someone would do harm to them because the deposits are so high. So I'm sorry but i would have to agree with Mr.M. Alot of the people here work in Laughlin at the casinos that's the only place you find decent pay.
