Thanks, I'm hoping to be back in 2016.

Another one from Arkansas City, this is on the river side of the levee.

yeah, if that is kate adams lake, i have duck hunted, fished, and even camped out there, "back in the day."

it really looks like a beautiful spot, even today. there are so many great little areas like that, up and down the levee. i have probably been in or around all of them at some point in the decades of living here. they are occasionally refreshed with water and fish when the river rises out of its banks, which can be a common occurrence in the spring.

if i am still in the area in 2016, i would be glad to buy you and your group lunch one day and maybe even be a resident tour guide for the day.

again, thanks for visiting southeast arkansas.

those pics are about 7-8 miles from my house on the mississippi river backwater and you can go the other direction (a few miles) and hit the pine forest hill country. it really is beautiful down here!

Can anyone identify this town/city and the river? I was on a Memphis to El Dorado flight which was going via Hot Springs until a thunderstorm made the pilot cancel there. So I have no idea where this was.

Is that a bridge being constructed there? Beyond it are two more bridges.
