China will only beat Taiwan due to the sheer size of its army. One Taiwanese soldier for 100 Chinese aggressors and the PLA would still come out ahead.
Against the US, it's a different story. What is the PLA going to do with its AK-47, bayonets, WWII tanks, swords, and horses?
I think you've been drinking the green taiwanese falung gong kool-aid for too long. Horses and bayonet?Hahahahaha!!!! Keep believing it and it might come true....

Are you seriously thinking PLA is still on swords and horses? They have modern weapons and equipments by every means and standards???

Companies have been making stuff in countries with even lower labor cost than China. There are countless poorer countries who will happily make, for less, what Chinese factories are now making.
easier said than done.
Other countries such as India, Vietnam, Bangladesh don't have the mature infrastructure, which not only includes roads and highways, but also the educated/skilled workforce to replace China, at least not any time soon.

Yes, bayonets and swords and WWII tanks??? Really?!

Maybe not India or Bnagladesh biut Vietnam has real possibilities; their infrastructure is impressive and having worked with both the workforce of both PRC and Vietnam, Vietnamese workers have real possibilities to rapidly exceed China in workforce productivity.
And look what happened. They lost their empire and became occupied by the US. Which, proves my point
Lad, try that with China and it will swallow every last wretched soldier the U.S. sends. There would be no occupation of mainland China. Any war with China will have to be one of weapons more than men.
You could have been Bush II's foreign policy advisor at that rate.

In the next war involving China, it will not be faught on Chinese soil. That's certain. If anything, it would be fought over the waters around taiwan, japan, or on the wide open oecean. Any attack on Chinese mainland targets will illicit an immediate nuclear response. If japan is foolish enough to bomb any Chinese maniland target, japanese cities will receive the brunt of China's nuclear retaliation. This is why I don't think there will be a real war between the US and China.
If the US decided to join ROC's side in a defensive war against the PRC, I think it more possible for the force to be sent from Japan. Only in Japan are there permanent bases for the 7th Fleet and other units.
The US doesn't really has in the current time any sizable base in the South East Asia, nor does it intend to do so in near future.
There would be forces from Japan, Korea, Guam, Diego Garcia, Hawaii, hell there could be B-2s from Missouri flying overhead.
I doubt America would get into a shooting war with China. Victory is far from assured and even that would come at great costs. In the meantime, America's enemies would come out of the woodwork to take advantage of the situation. Russia comes to mind. This is not to say war could never happen but it would have to be really desperate times for one or both countries which isn't the case now.

Russia? I don't think so. There's only one country you have to worry about. It's one that would LOVE to take advantage of the fog of war, and that is North Korea. With the US and allies distracted, Kim Jong-un or his successor would most likely invade South Korea to take advantage of the situation. North Korea has almost as many soldiers as the US does, and nobody won the Korean War. So, any kind of war in East Asia is best avoided. Status quo is the only viable option. You needn't worry about Russia
