LRT-1 (first rapid transit in Southeast Asia) built in 1984 does not go below ground.
u can see the initial video of Jakarta MRT ( Elevated not Subway ) which is similar to LRT and MRT Manila but is still different from MRT Manila seen from the shape of the station

Manila has 2 LRT lines. One of them is completely elevated. The other is mostly elevated but also has an underground segment. One station is underground.

Manila has 1 MRT line. It’s mostly elevated but two stations are underground.

Another MRT line is supposed to open next year. It will be mostly elevated, but it will also go underground, as 3 stations will be underground

Manila has just built an underground LRT and in Jakarta the above-ground LRT has a short line and does not know that the next Jakarta LRT line will be extended.. except for Jabotabek LRT has the longest Elevated line connecting Jakarta with cities outside Jakarta "Jabotabek" means Jakarta - Bogor- Tangerang - Bekasi . the point is that Jakarta has a plan to extend the MRT line later all underground from south of Jakarta to central to north then to westren and way to the eastren it will be amazing all will be Underground / SUBWAY

Well I have been to Jakarta and there are not many tourists there, especially international tourists. It is not a tourist hotspot as Bangkok. Yet Jakarta is more religious diverse than Bangkok as you encounter a lot more Christians there than Bangkok, even though a majority of people in Jakarta are Muslim.

MRT-3 was completed 1999 and LRT-2 on 2003, so Manila has just not built underground LRT lately but Manila has built it long ago sooner than most Southeast Asia cities did including Jakarta. As was pointed out already here, Manila is adding underground lines on its MRT-7 plus with the incoming MRT-3 extension. In addition, Metro Manila subway aka MRT-9 and Makati subway are under-construction which are mostly if not all are underground.

Indeed both metros are developing moving forward and Jakartas MRT may look more modern since they are newer built but Manila still has more extensive MRT lines and more on the pipeline. The upcoming MM and Makati subways can be if not more modern looking than Jakarta MRT if the plan and designs would be followed.

I feel proud that building transportation is money from the state itself, no debt... if the construction of LRT, KRL, BRT in Jakarta is financed by the state and not debt... MRT and HSR are still in debt. I challenge you to say MRT Manila is more modern than Jakarta MRT ? Just look at the future I don't believe it because how people in Manila are not disciplined like what was done in Jakarta
in Manila the people there are really very thirsty for modern transportation until they make a lot of videos starting the workers who build, dig, install poles and so on. It's different from Jakarta, we're are not like in Manila because generally people like what's already there and seen than under construction

HSR Jakarta - Bandung is already 78% because Indo usually plans and immediately builds
then Subway Manila 2 % ???

You maybe is right with Makati subway at 2% or perhaps 5% completion rate but MRT-7 is most probably at 70% now since it was already at over 60% way back July. Metro Manila subway is at 26% completion rate as per report. The difference is that Manila has been constantly building MRT/LRT since the 80's until now, building at least one per decade, slow but consistent. So let's just move on and see what the future holds.

LRT-1:1984
MRT-3:1999
LRT-2:2003
LRT-1 extension, LRT-2 extension
MRT-7:2022, just consider this for 2010 decade
MRT-9:2022
MRT-9 extension:2025
etcetera

and you believe Subway Manila will be modern like Subway in Tokyo ? don't dream with funds or owe from the country of manufacture impossible that Japan will make Manila Subway look modern and good like Tokyo and Japan is not a stupid country they build a Subway in Manila it doesn't mean it's as good or modern as you think ... in Jakarta MRT is indebted to Japan but it doesn't reach 100% what I quote 20% or 30% is money from Indonesia that is used to make stations more modern plus to build TOD and so on.. even though if Indonesia wants them they can buy expensive and good trains only because Japan has a requirement to use their trains yes, that's how the Jakarta MRT train looks like

build a mode of transportation if we still owe it we no need to dream will have a modern and good mode of transportation like developed countries in the world, except your country also has the money to make it more modern and as good as developed countries
