It's called an analogy. I compared McCain's downfall (his political suicide) of choosing Sarah Palin as something that Jack Kevorkian could be responsible for.

I didn't suggest that she was assisting in suicides except for those in the political arena.

Oh no... this is too scary!

I needed that! Thanks... After talking to NIKK on another thread, I was fast runnin' out of that "feel good" feeling, and that there's no hope for objective logic in this world. Of course, there ARE some rational pleasant debaters like freedom, so all is not yet lost. But Troop, where do you find this stuff?
Sorry to vex you so, rifleman!

I think she is scary in a Bush way, that she would have no problem limiting our liberties to suit her agenda.

How has Bush limited our liberties, and what basis do you have to say that Palin would?

I know one person who's afraid of Sarah Palin and his name is John McCain. Now his home state of Arizona in which he once held a strong lead is a toss up state. Fifty nine percent of Americans believe that Palin is not qualified to be President and that number has continued to rise and everytime she opens her mouth she reinforces that feeling to the voters and drags down McCain in the polls. Also, none of this is the result of any dirty politics or negative campaigning by the Democrats, it's completely the handiwork of Caribou Barbie herself.

Bush may have signed it into law but it was voted on in 2001 by a Majority Republican controlled Congress.

And then it was voted on again Patriot Act II by a Majority Democratically controlled Congress.

So how has Bush taken away our Freedoms? Isn't it really the Congress, and both parties at that?
The Congress with the lowest approval rating of any in the History of this Country 18%, lower than Bushes approval rating at 28%

The Bush Administration forced it down the Congress' throat and they swallowed. Same thing with the war. Don't you remember all this?

Doesn't the President have the ability to veto any bill that comes his way? Wouldn't he have done so if he knew/realized/cared it violated civil liberties?

And yes, ultimately congress can override the President on vetoed bills, but do you really want to live in a country where the president can't make decisions(i.e. congress makes them all for him)?
