I would also not be surprised to learn that he was behind the assassination of Benazir Bhutto who was probably one of the best allies and Western democratic thinkers/politicians in the Middle East that we had. Although she did have her flaws, she was certainly someone we needed in Pakistan. Pakistan already has nukes. Iran does not. Unless, of course, you're back in the business of using the same sort of material evidence that got us into Iraq.

But, Pakistan is what we would call a more "tentative" ally at this point in time but is full of madrassas better known as "terror schools". If you're looking for a nuclear strike to come out of anywhere, it's not going to be Iran, it's going to originate in Pakistan and it may not necessarily be as a result of the Pakistani government either.
They may play a role later, but they are not the primary cord...

Explain. No. Better yet. I would really like you to make a substantiative claim with evidence that supports Obama's "unfriendliness" to Israel.

Research Obama and the nation of Islam...regardless if you believe, the Israeli's believe it, and they will not wait for Obama to be in power to take care of Iran.

Here's a couple news articles

Seriously, I'm not saying this to be rude, but turn off the TV, freedom. Go to the library and head down the "Social Science and Politics" section and start reading about the Middle East as well as our foreign policy procedures past and present. There are hundreds of thousands of books out there that explain it with so much depth that I couldn't even begin to touch on through an internet forum.

Whether you watch CNN, FOX, MSNBC, whatever... they don't tell you the whole story. None of them do. They don't do it with the election, they don't do it with foreign affairs, they don't do it with Iraq. It infuriates me but that's the way it is. Seriously... Go to the library or the bookstore and really read what's going on.

If you think that the foreign policy matters are as simple as "Iran is crazy" or "Israel is good" than you're really not taking the broad scope of it in context. My suggestion... Really do some research. Since I first started going to the Middle East in 2004, I have been reading books on it and there's just so much entailed with it, it's hard to find a starting point.

What I can tell you. World War III is not going to happen before January 2009. And, if it does, it's not going to be because Iran turned Israel into a glass parking lot.

Freedom, my friend, we're going to have to change the name of this thread from "Anyone else afraid of Sarah Palen" to "Anybody else afraid of Freedom". Talk about dire predictions. I for one, am not going to go into survivalist mode and try to find a safe place in a cave in the mountains. In fact, I think Obama intends to do his best to improve conditions at home and also our relations with other nations and I'm feeling optimistic that he can do it.

There's so much fear being used on both sides of this election, it's scary!

(Nice pun there, wasn't it)

I hope your right... but the odds are against it.

Hey, we can't do anything about it anyway... and caves are damp and dark. So look into the light.

godspeed,

freedom

There's one very positive event that is represented by this thread about Palin and tomorrow's election. In a couple of months George Bush will be packing up and moving out of the White House. That's almost enough to make me shout "Thank You, Jesus!", well not quite, but I think you get my meaning. I expect Obama to win this election but even John McCain is such an improvement over Bush that no matter what happens things should improve considerably. I will say one thing about the winner of tomorrow's election and that is the fact that once we've elected a President he's going to be facing some very serious and difficult choices. If the Democrats win the White House and Congress as expected then they have to deliver the goods to the American public. That's not an easy thing to do when you really consider the economic mess we're in and the dangers we face from terrorists who want to hurt us. What I think American citizens and politicians need to do is to cooperate with each other, respect each other, and try to unify this nation.

Unity has never lasted on a national stage. Unity has never lasted in a Religious context.

I would love to see us enter an Edenic estate, but it never comes from secularism or orthodoxy. It will only come when all has been exhausted and we are humbled.

May the leader of the Universe come and wipe all this mess off the map.

godspeed,

freedom
