Comparing fashion in Dallas and Atlanta is like comparing apples to apples. Outside of minor differences, both cities PALE in comparison and cannot even be breathed in the same sentence when discussing fashion in New York, LA, or South Florida. It is similar to us discussing which city has better professional sports: Orlando or Jacksonville, when both cities have 1 professional sports team. Cities like Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, and every other MAJOR city has at least 3, so what's the difference and who cares?

People who live in Atlanta would not spend a dime to travel to Dallas to shop and vice versa, I doubt anyone in Dallas is coming to Atlanta to shop. People in both cities might go to New York to shop, however, because Atl and Dallas both suck soo soo bad in the fashion department when comparing to certain other cities.

They kind of go hand in hand and I don't dare start a city vs city thread like this, but comparing the art scene in the two cities would be 'slightly' more interesting and a more valuable discussion, imo, but still, is one really better and more creative than the other?

shopping in dallas and atlanta does not suck. it's completely sufficient for sunbelt cities their size. they're not new york so why would they need everything new york has?

the OP asked a question and we're contributing to it. it's not even necessary to bring up other cities

as far as comparing dallas and atlanta, people can act like the differences are so "minor" if they want, but dallas has somewhat of a significant advantage in my opinion

I suggest sense you are so bored that you create a thread about NYC vs LA in fashion if you do not like the topic. It is so beyond a lack of class and pure snobbery to suggest that this debate should not occur because YOU think its silly when NYC,LA or South Beach is not in the topic.Gimme a freakin break!

Fact is we were not compairing Dallas and Atlanta to other citiesnly to each other.YOU don't like it so YOU think WE should cease and demiss any accolades that either of these cities may or supposedly have.

Please don't mention South Florida.. I use to live in Palm beach.. Just like Dallas they have all those boutiques and still dress A mess throughout that region.. I don't run up to Nyc to shop unless I am in the city working. Why would I when I can get some of the same stores where I live.. Back in the day, that use to be the case no anymore..

Never said having celebs makes Atlanta fashionable.. I was giving an example how fashion is even spread through hip hop.. And how the entertainment industries sometimes showcase and expose fashion in whatever cities..

There's. Chic, urban, trendy, swim wear, etc these are different forms of fashions which Atlanta does well in all except
swim wear... Fashion forward is more than just wearing YSL.....

okay? and you don't think dallas has any of this? and using hip hop isn't the best example because most rappers are some of the first to brag about wearing designer labels

besides, for like the third time, the OP is specifically asking about high end fashion retail. she wasn't asking about which city has the better dressers in your opinion.

This is true. Dallas has more high end shopping options. The Dallas area has a more upscale & cosmopolitan feel to it than Atlanta and the shopping scene here does reflect that.

Wait, seriously? Whenever I've gone to Dallas, I've been surprised by how pedestrian and stereotypically Texan it is (e.g., big-ish hair, purses with labels showing all over them, people acting like they new money, etc.). Worldly and cosmopolitan are not words that come to mind. I agree with whomever said that fashion is more than wearing labels or the outfits a personal shopper at a high end store put together for you (which is what I saw in Dallas). Fashion is understanding how different looks and pieces can work together to create something exciting, innovative, flattering, and attractive.
