Actually, they've been looking for more than 5 years. At one point, they were ready to start an anchor store at Phipps. At almost the exact same time, they hit the skids financially.........

It's not a question of if, but when for Barney's here. Hence the co-op location in the meantime.

people act like i'm saying atlanta will NEVER have as much or even more high end retail as dallas. all i'm saying is that as of now, dallas does have an advantage. whether it's slight or significant depends on who you talk to, but it can't be denied

i call it like i see it. sometimes it offends atlantans, sometimes it offends dallasites, and sometimes it offends houstonians. i refuse to hold back my opinion just because people from these cities insist on being so sensitive
So is it fair to say everyone can be sensitive towards there cities.. I know this is a open forum. But if you observe from city vs city and the Atlanta forum yes the same atlantians and texans always going back and forth.. It's like there is some kinda competition to prove something.. Westbanknola I don't know where your from but I would assume u live close to Texas..

of course people are sensitive about their cities. i've favored atlanta MANY times against dallas and houston in other threads, but none of that matters whenever i should have something to say about the city that atlantans don't like

i even took my location down just so my posts wouldn't automatically be branded as "another arrogant, insecure texan". i know it aint that serious, but that's the way things work around here lol

I never denied the true facts.. I most certainly agree with u.. The problem is the OP made it seem like Atlanta didn't have anything and then she made the comment about the race..

Dallas has more highend retail there is no questioning that but hold back the night things are changing in the Atl with gettin more highend right now there really isn't any space for them.. Streets of buckhead slated to opening next year which is going to bring in more highend.. There are stores that Dallas has that Atlanta doesn't and there are plenty of stores Dallas has that Atlanta doesn't.. Wasn't there plans for another highend mall planned in forsyh county called. Collection at Forsyth?

Or maybe it's just simple jealousy, who knows?

I think I would be a little jealous of Atlanta if I had to live somewhere less attractive, lush and hilly, but that's just me.
