Hello Everyone!

Iam a freelance Audio/Visual Specialist with a passion for development. Every 6 weeks or so, I produced an updated Construction Video documenting the progress made at various developments throughout Metro Atlanta. Please see my YouTube page for more HD Atlanta Videos! I hope everyone enjoys watching as much as I enjoy creating.

National Center for Civil & Human Rights:
A green wall has been erected around the site. Site preparation is scheduled to begin the week of March 4th with groundbreaking soon thereafter. I'm pumped about this Museum. IMO the Civil Rights Movement is one of Atlanta's greatest legacies and gifts to humanity & this tribute is long overdue.

College Football Hall Of Fame:
Crews have begun site preparation. By the looks of it I think groundbreaking is imminent. Once doors open I expect this area to become even more pedestrian oriented. IMO this may serve as the catalyst for Time Square South which is planned for the parking lot across the street.

Elan Westside:
The foundation is being poured, the rear retaining walls constructed and with the crane erected, construction should be ramping up. I wonder how loud the RR tracks in the back will be?

Walton Westside:
Crews have completed most of the site grading and groundbreaking is underway. The development fronts Foster St. which will definitely need an upgrade. The goats across the street should give it a country livin' feel right in the heart of the city

100 6th St:
Construction is moving along briskly. The foundations are being poured on the southern side. On the northern portion, the site has been graded and is ready for the improved parking deck to be built.

131 Ponce de Leon Ave:
Visual confirmation that the entire building has been reduced to rubble. I personally didn't see crews remove and save any of the exterior for renovation, as I only visited the site twice over the last 2 months. I read Sereo Group & Faison Enterprises are supposed to save a portion of the facade for re-use.

Proton Treatment Cancer Center:
The site has been fenced off and is quite large at 2.3 acres. Developers have until Thursday to meet their target groundbreaking date announced in the ABC.

New GSU Law School:
This building will convert a huge parking lot close to the Atlanta Streetcar. One of the two buildings on the site have been demolished. Renderings indicate the demolition of the Candler Building Parking Deck before development can proceed.

New GSU Science Building:
The site is fenced off and ready for development. GSU has until Thursday to meet their target groundbreaking date announced in the ABC.

One12Courtland:
The parking deck has been completely demolished and renovation continues on the former Ramada Hotel. I'm gad to see that the character of the hotel is being saved. The 60's style awnings will add some character to an otherwise bland section of JWD Ave.

Ponce City Market:
Crews have removed all the pavement/concrete along sections of Glenn Iris & North Ave. I estimate the underground parking deck to have at least 4 floors from the size of the hole. Views from the Fourth Ward Park seem to prove its perceived continuation right into Ponce City Market. Each of the old windows are being inspected & removed by hand (mirrors in hand!). The two secondary entrances fronting Ponce are being preserved complete with the old "Retail Store" engravings in stone above the doors. The tower will really benefit from a facelift. I never noticed all the green slime until I zoomed in with my camera. If possible, go down and see this renovation in action. It's really interesting to watch.

BOHO 4W:
Construction has begun on the eastern portion of this development. It looks like the 1st floor is close to up. Meanwhile crews are still leveling the rest of the site and still have a way to go. There's still a huge clay hill on the southwest corner.

AMLI Ponce Park:
Site preparation/grading is continuing. I estimate groundbreaking very soon. Some of these apartments will literally front the Park, super cool!

The Somerset:
Site still idel. I heard through the grape vine that this is due to a permitting issues? I hope they get this resolved soon. The renderings of the building look nice. I never noticed the elevation change until I was standing up on Somerset Terrace. IMO when these get built, they will offer some of the best views of the Atlanta skyline.

Krog Street Market:
Judging by the condition of the decapitated bridge over Krog I think its going to have to be completely replaced. It seems rather far gone. I'm surprised it's still standing considering Atlanta's propensity for demolition... However walking around the site, I was unable to find any evidence that redevelopment has begun. I bet they will start soon considering the summer 2013 opening date.

Thanks Joey! Any idea what's wrong with the hyperlinks here? I'm new and maybe missing something. I'm sure people don't want to cut and past, just click. Thoughts?

Anyone have any idea's why the Hyperlinks are not active? I followed the forum instructions and it's still not working correctly...
If you copy the url, not from your Youtube account with the youtu.be, but from the url at the top when the video is playing without the "dot" it seems to work.
Just testing: Krog Street Market:
Pre Construction - Krog Street Market - East Atlanta - 2/21/13 - YouTube

By the way thanks for the videos, like the vids of I'm assuming you riding along the Eastside Beltine Trail.

Just an FYI..if you go around to the side of the building on Lake Ave, you can see some of the renovation work going on inside the building. I'm not sure there is much going on outside or what they are doing, but you can see crews walking in and out from a set back entrance on Lake Ave fairly often.

77 12th Street:
The building has been topped out. Most of the windows have been installed minus the very top floors and ground level. The recreation area's wooden "gazebo" can be seen from street level. IMO the balconies look larger than at Skyhouse. Not sure if they will put the AC units out there like in Skytrailer:shrug:

New Cafe Intermezzo:
Crews are in the middle of a $800k buildout at Peachtree & 11th Streets. The front porch area will be large and welcoming. IMO this should draw a lot of pedestrians to this area & give this section of Peachtree St a vibrant pedestrian feel.

GA Tech EB Building:
Tech's camus expansion continues. The Engineered Biosystems Building will provide 200,000 square feet (5 floors) of multidisciplinary research space to accommodate expansion of the Institute's bioXmedical research enterprise. Crews have completed excavating the southern part of the lot to make way for basement level facilities or an underground parking deck.

Buckhead Atlanta:
Construction is ramping up! Crews have begun adding floors to the long idled 6-7 story section fronting East Paces Ferry Rd. The front entrance area is up to the 3-4 floor. Developers have started construction on the 2nd lot next to the Buckhead Library.

92 West Paces Ferry:
The building is topped out and stucco has been added to the southern section. Crew are still finishing the exterior of the northern third overlooking the Atlanta History Center.

Camden Buckhead:
All the buildings of the former Pace Apartments have been demolished. Crew are currently site grading and removing debris. IMO that's a lotta dirt to be moved!

Circle Terminus Apts:
The concrete retaining walls have been blasted into place & crews are drilling the foundations of Building 1, closest to Terminus 100. Site preparation & grading is being done on the site of Building 2, directly behind Terminus 200. The Building 3 lot is still idle.

ESPN Zone/Flagship Restoration Hardware:
The sing out front indicates the building is under-contract. Plans call for a 6 story Restoration Hardware.

Planned Hilton Garden Inn:
Loudermilk Development has put up a sign indicating construction of a 15 floor Hilton Garden Inn. The development schedule is still not set in stone but the CEO estimates groundbreaking in 6 months. Bordered by Roswell Road, Irby Avenue, Early Street and the Buckhead Theatre the site is presently parking lot.

Default July 2013 Construction Update

131 Ponce de Leon Ave:
Work continues as the ground floor goes up. There seems to be a lot of plywood that goes into construction of these apartments. I've been noticing this all around town.

Georgia Proton Treatment Center:

A rendering is up on site. Crews are pouring a lot of concrete on the foundations. They are building what looks like a massive concrete box (20'x40'x10' or so) with several pipes sticking out. Could this have something to do with the physical storage of the protons, the "ionizing radiation" or Radioisotopes if you will, used in this type of Cancer treatment? Now I'm no construction expert but from my understanding, Nuclear Reactors house their cores in concrete and water. I wonder if this is something similar or just simply a lot of concrete?

Tech Engineered Biosystems Building:
Tech Engineered Biosystems Building - Construction - Midtown Atlanta - 7/17/2013 - YouTube
Crews are still working on the foundation columns, of which there are a lot. I suppose there will be a heavy load/stress factor on this building considering lab equipment is heavy!

Atlanta Soka Gakkai Buddhist Center:
Atlanta Soka Gakkai Buddhist Center - Construction - Atlantic Station - 7/17/13 - YouTube
The footprint of this building is very small. I can also confirm another surface parking lot surrounding. From the looks of it about 50% of the space will be for parking. Really, a tiny building (for Atlanta standards at least)...

Walton Westside:

Crews are working on the 2nd residential floor. The large parking deck shouldn't be visible from the street upon completion. Meanwhile traffic on Huff St. is getting worse! This is my 4th visit to this site over the past year or so and each time, there are more cars in this area. Kudos to infill but damn the traffic, MAN!

Crescent Terminus:
Crescent Terminus - Construction - Buckhead Atlanta - 7/17/13 - YouTube
Building 1's (closest to Terminus 100) first residential floor is being constructed on top of the parking deck. Building 2's ground floors are still being poured while over at Building 3 (farthest from Terminus 100) the foundations are being laid.

Camden Buckhead:
Camden Buckhead - Construction - Atlanta - 7/17/13 - YouTube
A 4-5 floor parking deck is going up on the back end of the property. It's currently visible from the road but I'm pretty sure it will be hidden once the buildings go up.

Stay tuned, more to come soon!

BOHO 4W:
BOHO 4W - Construction - Old Forth Ward Atlanta - 7/17/13 - YouTube
Crews have topped out the building closest to the OFW Park. It looks as though they are building townhome style rentals to complement the apartment building. The mountain of dirt on Glenn Iris has been removed.

Ponce City Market:
Ponce City Market - Renovation/Construction - Old Forth Ward Atlanta - 7/17/13 - YouTube
I thought the area fronting Glenn Iris was suposed to be green space? I can confirm what looks like a good ole surface parking lot. So much for hoping a nice park would surround the building! Renovation continues...

100 6th Street:
100 6th Street - Construction - Midtown Atlanta - 7/17/13 - YouTube
Unfortunately the Skyhouse design style continues. This time I can confirm the AC units will be housed on the balcony of each unit. The same white "covering" is being applied to shield the view from the street but if you look at
Skyhouse, they are still visible.
