I am interviewing for a job in Atlanta - my office will be in Buckhead. What is the morning commute like from Suwanee to Buckhead? Can someone tell me a little bit about Buckhead?

Suwanee to Buckhead will be a rough commute. I-85 is EXTREMELY congested. Then, depending on if you jump on GA-400, Lenox Road, etc., look for a slow crawl up to the office. Ditto for your return. I would estimate 1-1.5 hours each way for a commute.

Yes, Your Commute will be horrible from Suwanee. Buckhead is nice. Supposed ot be upscale and I heard they are in the works for making it similar to Rodeo drive in some parts. Are you looking to buy or rent there?

My wife used to commute from Suwanee to Buckhead every day. If she left early enough (like 6AM) it would take about 40 minutes, but on most days it was 60 - 75 minutes, and a few times it took her 2 and a half hours (when there was an accident on I-85)

I live on the Suwanee/L'ville border and work downtown right off the 85. I leave my home at 7:15 each morning and I arrive downtown ATL around 8am. My return home is about the same, I get out of the office and to my car by 5:05pm and I'm home by 5:50 - 6pm on most days. I'm from Los Angeles and an hour commute (no more) is fine for me. I need that time to clear my head before I get home to my children. Its the only "me" time I get. lol But really, to me, that little commute straight down the 85 from Suwanee to downtown is not a big deal at all. Just get some great CDs and roll out.
