Very mature-lets just turn this into a hipster-bashing fest. Anyway None of the posters who repsonded is under 30. No offense but you ppl wouldnt know what cool was even if it crawled up ur a*$ and f'ed you.

and i dont care about bumblef*ck metro atlanta and how they talk out in the sticks. In the places that matter and are actually cool - intown atlanta and ITP - and acceptable suburbs like Dunwoody, THICK souther accents are not cool or commonplace. Of course, a light accent is perfectly acceptable and very attractive imo. But a thick one is lame. Get with the times or GTFO!

I don't know...
Who are you to decide who is allowed to be southern and who is not?

By the way, only ONE of my parents was a transplant, and she is from northern KY which some consider southern.

Really? So, what is "cool"? Is it cool to go into rants on the Internet as you did above? Is it cool to think that the only places that matter are intown Atlanta and ITP? That outside the perimeter or perhaps in the country is not cool? Well, we know what is not cool, your attitude in this post.

Aren't we beyond the point where we hate people for being Southern? I've lived almost my entire life in that shadow.

Sheppard Smith has a Southern accent? Funny -- I've never noticed that before. But then, I refuse to watch Rupert Murdoch's Faux News. I prefer watching channels that actually tell me what's going on in the nation and world, rather than be subjected to 24/7 of Obama bashing.

Sorry, but you're wrong. You'd have to listen pretty hard to find a Southern accent in any of the Fayette County high schools. I have 11 nieces and nephews that are the products of that school system and not ONE speaks with a Southern accent.

I have several friends from the Eastside, and absolutely NONE of them behave or think this way. And I've got news for you - I live ITP too, and you wouldn't last 10 minutes in my neighborhood with this nasty attitude. Grow up.
