Vinings is ITP between 285 and the river. Smyrna is on the OTP side of 285.

As Aries correctly points out, everything west of the Chattahoochee is Cobb County including Vinings and Cumberland even though those two areas are Atlanta 30339 to the post office.

I am from the Sprayberry area and have been in the Military since 1989. The changes seem so very drastic, since I only return home only once every 4 or 5 years. I miss the 1980's Marietta before the overdevelopment. Most people I grew up have since moved further North into Bartow and Cherokee counties, while others have even moved to Paulding, Pikens, Gilmer, and Fannin counties. It reminds me of the term "White Flight" that I heard thrown around so much when I was growing up. Marietta was once considered the outskirts.

Hope they enjoy the commute that comes along with living in the middle of nowhere.

Sorry, I don't know terribly much about Vinings, that's just what I've been told over the years.

You know, not everyone that lives in the boonies commutes to town or wants to live in town.

Yeah, it's a lot easier to get a feel for it when you drive through it every day like I do. I know some in Atlanta seem to lust after the 30339 area, and perhaps with good reason. It seems nice enough to me.

Once again Aries beats me to the punch and leaves me with nothing to add.

There are areas of Kennesaw and Smyrna that are upscale, many expensive homes on Atlanta Road in Smyrna, Legacy Park in Kennesaw is upper middle for sure as well as parts of the Kennesaw mailing area to the west of 41. West Cobb with a Marietta 30064 zip is nothing to sneeze at either.

But all in all, East Cobb is considered the creme de la creme of the whole County.

The Sprayberry Area is still very nice. A well-kept secret in Metro Atlanta IMO.
