Hello All,

I am a 28 year old single, professional woman looking to relocate and have been debating between Florida and Atlanta. I was born and raised in New York and have only lived in New York and Connecticut, so I am truly a Northeaster. I have lived in the city and the suburbs and would love to relocate somewhere that has a nice balance between the two. I love the warm weather, palm trees and beautiful beaches of Florida, but love the urban, metropolitan feel of Atlanta. I currently work in corporate america and go to school part time for social work, so I would love to be somewhere that has a strong job market and career opportunities. Being from New York and of mixed ethnicities, I want to be somewhere that is culturally diverse. As I mentioned before, I am single so my social life will be a very important deciding factor for my relocation, as I want to be somewhere that offers a nightlife, plenty of activities, young professionals and of course, single men .

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

You have to narrow it down more than "Florida."

Florida is the fourth most populous state in the country with almost 20 million residents. Living in Miami, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa are all quite different experiences.

However, for you, Atlanta is probably better than all of Florida. Except maybe Miami.

Come to Atlanta!! You can make tons of money here. Stay away from Florida way too much racial profiling in that city Florida.

If you are interested in heading out west, you might want to consider both Houston and Dallas. Both cities are quite diverse, have strong economies and have a lot of singles. I have lived in Dallas and found it to be a good city for a single gal.

I know those cities were not in your original question, but I wanted to give you other options that you might want to consider - and I would pick Atlanta over any city in Florida. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

It sounds like Atlanta would be a better choice for you.

As an aside, I grew up and spent most of my adult life in various parts of Florida, and I find that the lack of distinct seasons eventually bothers most Northeaster transplants.

If you look good come to Atlanta. If you are a sight for sore eyes move to Jacksonville.

Thank you all for your feedback. I am new to this site and this was my first post/ thread so I tried to be as descript as possible. I did not state specifically where in Florida I was considering because I am not too familiar with Florida. So I was hoping that if people did recommend Florida, they would also recommend cities within Florida that would be best suited for me based on the descriptions I had given about myself. However based on everyone's feedback, it sounds as though the general consensus would be Atlanta.

Thanks again, and any further feedback would be greatly appreciated
