So wait, have we actually established that MM had a direct remediation cost on the Piedmont Park Conservancy? If so, what is the amount?

I thought it was fairly well-established earlier in this thread that the remediation was by the concert promoter, but then again I haven't been following it extremely closely. Was there some gap in coverage that had to be picked up by the PPC?

In other words, your concerns about the park are just a figment of your imagination.
If you think they are imaginary, I suggest you stop watching cartoons.

Edit: Not you, arjay. But, whoever thinks that.

I'm extremely confused by all of this....

It seems that:

1) The city authorized a concert
2) The park got damaged
3) The promoter or city didn't repair it, instead a privately funded non-profit had to do it
4) When asked why the city doesn't fund the park, the answer is that the people who live near it have too much money?

This is bizarro world.

I understand.

But it sounds to me, then, like the beef ought to be with the city of Atlanta, not with a bunch of people who would like to use a city park for what seems to be a pretty legitimate use of such a space.

In that case, what good is the conservancy?

But it's so much easier to find a video of a few people peeing on a bush and blame them for everything than it is to deal with the city.

Where was the bolded demonstrated? I still haven't seen this definitively stated. This thread has gotten quite long so perhaps I missed it.

Everything I have read indicates the opposite: the Piedmont Park Conservancy was NOT in fact on the hook for the repairs that took place, and they were instead covered by the promoter. But the information available online and in the media is pretty sketchy.

arjay? Ansley? You are the guys in the know about this. Who paid for the remediation efforts to the park (especially the fencing off and resodding of various areas)?

To maintain and build out and operate and maintain the park.
