Well, looks like it could be Fuqua and Pope & Land doing the Braves development.
Fuqua will just be one of 4 developers building the mixed-use and it won't be his design.
Jerde is the architect and will design the master plan. Schiller and Scheurholz will sign off on what Jerde designs and the 4 developers will build it.
I don't know anyone who likes shopping at Edgewood. It (and the equally terrible big box development on Ponce) is the only option for people in the area unless we want to drive long distances. When you're the only game in town, you can get away with being crap, and Edgewood Retail is most definitely crap.
I like ERD. I usually walk or ride a bike there and buy enough food that I can carry home. I just make more trips per month. If I do need to drive, I always approach from Hardee Street and park on the side of Kroger or Target for a quick getaway.

Right. And let's not forget that Pope & Land has done some great projects all over the city.
Sounds like it will be a consortium of Pope & Land, Fuqua, Batson Cook and Pollack shores.
I can't help but feel a little wistful about our failure to get something similar started downtown over the decades, but so be it. Cobb will do a first rate project.
Did they REALLY have to choose a rap or hip hop or whatever that is song??? Atlanta is already wrongly considered "ghetto" by many outsiders, and unfortunately, many also associate rap/hip hop with "the ghetto" so do we really want them reinforcing that????
