Hi everyone
We were planning to move after our boy left for college but now may consider arriving there before his 10th grade year.
Would appreciate some feedback on how it is for kids coming in at that time. He is kinda shy and not the kind that hangs with the popular crowd.
I just want him to make a few friends and not be too alone. I know it's awkward at first.
I guess now I have to think about Best high school. I like what I read about Milton. How do Cambridge and other high schools in a Alpharetta compare?
I am sure they are all good academically. I guess I'm more concerned about social environment. No bullying and pretty well grounded kids

Does he have any strong interests in terms of extracurriculars?

I think all the schools up there are pretty similar.

Where will your jobs be?

Also, read up on GA HOPE scholarship -- it is a nice perk if your child stays in state.

I did read about the hope scholarship. I'm not sure how long you have to be a resident.
He has interest in science and possibly joining some clubs in technology.
Not much into sports though he did play football for a while until he got hurt.

I don't know where you are coming from, but please be aware that high schools in the area you are looking have large student bodies. While that is a good thing due to the wealth of extracurriculars and advanced classes that go along with big schools, it's also easy for a new student to feel absolutely lost.

We had to move when our oldest was entering 11th grade, because of a job transfer. It was brutal on him, and he did play sports. If you can wait, I would.

Hi! I am in a similar situation as to what you posted back in 2014. I would like to know how was your outcome with your son. Did he adjust well? What school would you recommend?
