Im certainly going to check it out, but I am curious how the turnout will be. The section on Murphy Ave is not the most friendly looking part of town.

Im glad they are doing this though.

What is prejudiced about that statement?

I used to work near there and the hookers were all over the place.

This should help them out and stimulate the local economy.

Actually the event will be held in Historic West End mostly. Historic West End is filled with very beautiful historical homes. Most of the renovated homes in historic West End are drawing many new residents of all colors like me. I have been to over 60 nations, and love West End. On my street along six new people have move in. We all are very successful and could have moved to the boring suburbs. No street hookers are not walking around all day.

However let's not be fooled, the most vital thing West End need are strong families to continue to move in. No one single event can sustains what West End really need. I think West End will be an example of what happens when people get honest about their stereotypes and prejudices. I admire the my white neighbors who were bold enough to move in and stay until it started to change.

West End is simply evolving into very beautiful community. The renovated homes have so much character, no cookie cutter homes at all. If I could put a percentage on how far West End got to go, I say 40 percent, but I like sense of communities and realness that other neighborhoods don't have. Each one of my neighbors watches my house and we know each other personally. Certain neighborhoods in Atlanta are now moving to the point of having their own little distinct cultures, regardless of how suburban people stereotype have perceived those places to be. Quite simply we no longer care what you think of us. We are moving forward and I love it. Thanks Street Atlanta Alive for highlighting West End with the first event of your kind for 2014.
