Why didn't they choose to build a multimodal center near GWCC ? That on its own would have helped push efforts for intecity rail.
Cost (the MMPT has been a concept for 20+ years).

Atlanta's trees are truly its most outstanding attribute. The hills I can take or leave.

I agree, but Chattanooga's overall appeal is limited by its size. If Atlanta had Chattanooga's topography, it would definitely be a bigger selling point.

A lot of people outside of the "south" gets Atlanta initially confuse for "Gambling" (which is obviously Atlantic City). You can say you have x amt of SP1000 companies, olypmics, etc, but in the end of the day, people in the world have no clue or care of the term "Atlanta". They dream of NYC , LA, SF , DC, Chicago and maybe boston and philly.

Atlanta has significant name recognition and I seriously doubt most people outside the South confuse it with Atlantic City. That's a new one.

You obviously missed the significance of the quotes around "many cities" in my note here yesterday. It was a response to a specific remark by a specific person.
If you completely remove the context of why I wrote what I did at that time about Atlanta's topography then yes, it has no relevance here.
Correspondingly, if you remove the context behind anything you write here, it too has no relevance.

Did you look at the photo I posted of Kansas City?

And did you see the word "compared" in there? Yes, every place has hills, but to claim Atlanta is just as flat as the others is silly at best. Or to claim that Kansas City is as hilly as Atlanta is silly at best.
