Might have more to do with the CDC being nearby. The world's largest medical center is in Houston.

Atlanta has one of the closest relationship with the Louver than any other institution anywhere.
I personally thought the folk art exhibits were cool . Especially the Howard Finster collection.
And the Louvre exhibit that came was about fakes. So they showed a bunch of fakes and falsely identified works of masters. In other words, the Louvre let them show stuff they would never show in the Louvre. It was a very disappointing and misleading exhibit.

People come from around the world for treatment in Texas.

No way does the Mona Lisa visit Atlanta.

People have lots of different definitions of what defines world class. Somehow I don't think gentlemen's clubs (adult entertainment?) are in many people's definitions.

I'm a member of the High and enjoy going there occasionally, but it cannot in any means be defined as a world class museum.
It pales in comparison to Houston's MFA, let alone the museums in DC, NYC or Paris or London or many other European cities.

Considering it hasn't left the Louvre since the 1970s (and last visited the U.S. 50 years ago), it ain't going anywhere.

Of that, I have no doubt. My point was, perhaps Texas...by way of it's Medical Centers... should demonstrate that same level of interest/commitment in treating it's own citizens.

No the headlines are for "uninsured." That is totally different than "not treated." They have clinics and county hospitals and lots of not-for-profit hospitals that do lots of charity care. The large counties have separate property taxes to fund county hospitals. They don't have to ask counties for money like Grady. And one of the reasons there are so many uninsured is because they have lots of illegal immigrants. You need to look beyond the headlines.

And to get a little back on track, while I don't know about the criteria, there was a report that ranked Atlanta the nation's most caring city (its in another thread).
