Are there any website links or suggestions for some local hiking in the Atlanta area? I saw the Sawnee Mountain Preserve nearby but was hoping to get some advice for any other good, relatively light hiking trails. Thanks

There's a little park with trails near downtown Roswell. I forgot what it's called. It's nice if you want the impression you're far away but not really.

Lorilove posted a link for a great start. I love how many trails there are around Atlanta that make you forget you are close to a big city. Hidden gems for sure!

Kennesaw Mtn has trails.

The Bob Callan trail in Cumberland links to a huge trail network along the river in Cumberland and East Cobb.

If you don't mind paved, there's the silver Comet trail.

When I lived in the Atlanta area I used to take the short drive up to Amicalola Falls in Dawsonville, between Ellijay and Dahlonega. Beautiful scenery, any time of year. The time I went in winter was gorgeous, because it was the first time I'd ever seen a frozen waterfall. Anyway, there are hikes that are easy and there are ones that are hard. A little something for everyone.

I know it's not right in the Atlanta area, but it's really not far. Makes a great day trip.
