He'd probably be dead or locked up in a room getting tortured if he looked vaguely middle eastern.

That makes no sense considering the amendments of the BoR were designed to limit the power of the government and protect citizens from government overreach, not have that same government "grant" rights to the people.

Are you of the mindset that that you can grant yourself the right to walk into an airport with an AR15?
I'm not granting myself that right, it already exists.

That being said, the guy with the AR-15 was being a douche, but it was within his rights to do so.

Who do you think grants rights? Individuals don't have that power. Governments at all levels grant rights all the time. Who do you think made marijuana legal in Colorado? Hint: Not Revco or CVS or Cheech and Chong. Who do you think is granted same sex marriage rights in most of the states? Hint: Not Ellen Degeneris or Neil Patrick Harris. Who do you think granted women the right to vote? Hint: Not Susan B. Anthony.

New/expanded rights such as the right to waltz into the airport like a prima donna with your AR15 are granted by legislation and that can only happen through government action.

That right has only existed for a year, courtesy of the Georgia State Legislature and Governor Deal.

None of those are rights specifically enumerated in the Constitution except for women's suffrage, and regarding the latter:

Quote:
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
-19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
Having a right no longer being "denied or abridged" is NOT the government "granting" the right to vote.

Individuals don't grant themselves rights, because they already exist.

Wow, you are embarrassing yourself now. The constitution is not the totality of government. The right to open carry in Hartsfield-Jackson is a state right.

All thanks to some aggressive prodding by some "Northern transplants" a'la the National Rifle Association.

I find some special humor in the fact that this organization was founded by veteran Union military officers.

You can't make this stuff up!

All I want to know is, why didn't the State Legislature make laws mandating in a rigorous manner, the initial and on-going teaching of these Open-Carry laws to every P.O.S.T. Academy and Law Enforcement Agency in Georgia?

Surely they could've been a little thoughtful...about the consequences of simply passing laws that even the rank-and-file of the Georgia State Patrol, the premier law enforcement agency of this state...may not be aware of...could they?

Who got the power to have rights and grant rights from the British Government?

Rights come from the People and their will, which is supposed to be carried out by the Government. Not the will of the Government to be carried out by the people. There is a huge difference that your not seeing. The Government has only the power given to it by the People.
