If MARTA is the thumbtack, what is the balloon? You know on second thought, nevermind, this metaphor is stupid.

It's a dumb metaphor indeed. It's just as easily flipped so that MARTA is the balloon and road funding is the tack.

Really, though, I would say that a 1% TSPLOST split evenly between local roads and MARTA is the balloon, and these North Fulton leaders are the tack.

Put each on the ballot on it's own for 0.5%. Let voters decide.

That's what I would like to see, but we'll have to wait to find out what the County leaders allow...

I want rails, I haven't taken a bus since 4th grade and don't intend to now dang it.

I've been wondering something about this, but I want to run it by y'all first...

What if enough of us who live in DeKalb or Fulton voted Yes to any transit expansion tax but No to any road tax? Best-case, we'd get additional funding for both transit and roads. Worst-case, we'd shock the region by indicating that transit expansion is even more important than just road expansion.

It Just Boils my blood as a whole that the State of Georgia puts Transit through so much to even get Transit Funding even when it come to Taxing their own local area to get it. That doesnt even get into the Fact they dont have any dedicated funding for Transit or Marta but will approve bills that give Billions to Road Projects. Now that speaks Volumes... Transit is the true Step Child in the State that gets kicked to the back burner time and time again, getting nothing or very little while Road and Road projects get first priority. The crazy part is eveyone knows this but ignores it.

Because we don't have enough leaders like Sen. Beach who are willing to risk their political future on transit.
