Suburban-Style Chick-fil-A Bound for Heart of Ponce? - Curbed Atlanta
Please do not let this happen. Just as Ponce is densifying, Chick-fil-a wants to come in and build a suburban-style store with a 31-space parking lot behind the store and drive-thru. It's not that there is an issue with Chick-fil-a, just the suburban style store.

They're also trying to do the same thing, right on the Marietta Square:
Chick-fil-A is coming to Marietta Square | www.ajc.com

Complete with a drive thru. Totally suburban style right in the one truly urban area of OTP. Utterly ridiculous placement.

As a citizen I feel as I have more right to input how MY city is developed, which is why Atlanta created NPUs. I already do not frequent this business As I do not agree with their conservative views.

Even though the OP and others dont like it, Atlanta is a car based city. It would be business suicide to put in a chick fil a on Ponce and not have parking, or a drive thru.

Unless they install a light/crosswalks at Somerset Terrace, this is going to be a traffic nightmare.

Then don't build a chick-fil-a there, if they cannot adapt to be something like the location at Terminus 100, which does great business.

Chick-fil-a has succeeded at the ground floor retail location, I do not understand why they insist on building a suburban style restaurant?

My wife works in Terminus. No one drives to Terminus to pay to park in the parking deck just to get a chix sandwich.

I dont see people *****'n about Murder Kroger or Home Depots parking lots on Ponce

In the nearby city of Bellevue, WA, there has been a ban on drive-thrus for about 15 years. I was surprised when they built a Chick-fil-A there at the corner of one of the busiest intersections, and it had a drive thru. When it opened, they had to bring in police to do traffic control for 4 months, and it still gridlocked the traffic in that area. Apparently the temptation for a new pot of sales tax, and Business & Occupation tax money from a notoriously high volume fast food outlet results in exceptions to local zoning laws.
