They settled, so at least the Braves ped bridge will proceed.

The Power's Ferry @ Chattahoochee part of Sandy Springs is really just an offshoot of Cumberland (just not Cumberland CID officially). It wouldn't be what it was were it not for Cumberland. It'd just be residential like everything else around there. I think it'd be perfectly appropriate that some people use the Northside Dr/Power's Ferry exit. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you benefit from Cumberland, you really should be part of the solution. I imagine the McDonald's, etc, at Northside will love it.

I'm glad, since it was my idea originally before the Braves were even thought of, as part of the initial talks about the CID Master Plan. The Cumberland CID wanted to define its "core" as the area South of I-285 and West of I-75. I said they should be more ambitious and try to link up the four corners of the interchange and call that whole thing the core. I actually proposed the pedestrian bridge through email with the CID prior to the Master Plan process, prior to the CID knowing anything about the Braves' talks with Tim Lee. Well, we know what ended up happening at those parcels, and as I was going to the CID meeting ready to pitch this idea further, and that was either the day of or day after the announcement (can't remember) and the meeting was cancelled for obvious reasons. They were going to try to push through a concept they had already in the guise of it being a workshop committee type thing, and their whole thing got ripped to shreds. No more "core" of Cumberland being ITP only and suddenly linking up the 4 corners of the interchange weren't a luxury, it was a REQUIREMENT! :-)

Yes, this "driving through Sandy Springs" is just hysteria. This road is mostly an access road and is basically part of the freeway system.

People are just going to have to deal with it being 1000 ft OTP and how much pain and suffering that causes.

Willis "Bill" Cleveland is a wise man:

“The preponderance of traffic that’s being generated is regional traffic, and Cobb has kind of walled itself off from the rest of the region...”
