I dunno about the tree situation. I was in Houston last fall and it definitely had no shortage of trees from my perception. Does Atlanta have more? Yeah.. but not to an extremity...Houston is no desert.

As far as the cities being similar? I.. don't really think so - no. The only thing I really see similar in them is that they're both thriving modern sun-belt cities. Houston seems more like it got with the program as far as its infrastructure is concerned as well as promoting and preparing for economic growth.

Atlanta seems more like it just allowed it to happen without any planning or forsight and continued to pursue ridiculous local and politcal conflicts that in turn choked the city of having any formidable future. The natives here act as if the city is only half of its size and are narrow sighted as only to pursue what benefits "their neighborhood" rather than the region as a whole..which brings me to another big issue with Atlanta.. Atlanta is really just a collaboration of multiple striving municipalities in one region of which none have any desire to coordinate with another..as if they just live on an island catered to themselves. If I were you, I'd choose Houston, Atlanta sucks..move here from any decent city and you'll quickly find out that asside from its decent year round weather and relatively lower cost of living (which is also being stripped away) there's nothing here to really be proud of.

Houston is tree covered. Go into any tower downtown and look out at the city and pretty much all you see is trees. Atlanta tends to have taller trees. And with the hills, the forest cover is more obvious.

Now there are sections to the west like Katy that used to be Rice farms that have limited tree cover, but inside Beltway 8 (the 2nd loop), Houston is pretty tree covered.

His last paragraph is a little extreme, but there is a lot of truth. You are the only one trolling.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Gotta love the whole "grass is greener" syndrome.

I find this statement particularly ironic considering we're comparing it to Houston.

Another plus Houston has over Atlanta is being close to the coast! Obviously Galveston beaches aren't like the nice Florida beaches, but still a beach non the less and fun water activities! Atlanta is landlocked other than Lake Lanier.
