I find this is significant good news and could possible open up to Metro Atlanta's second airport one day.

I don't have an issue with the additional special purpose flights indicated in the article (and I live near the area) - but I don't see this as a second airport option for commercial flights

If it did become a second passenger airport, that would be a huge pull for a HRT MARTA line.

I'm fine with Dobbins potentially being a tertiary, minor airport for domestic flights. But any proper second airport needs to be out in Gwinnett somewhere, far OTP. NE side, to balance out HJIA's location on the SW side.

Cobb County already has a public airport, McCollum Field.

Especially if the freight logistics are done from Atlanta Rd, although GTRI is expanding their operations on that side. Even so, can't imagine much added truck traffic from an infrequent cargo flight or two.
