We just moved, but we were in Buckhead (I am also a SAHM) and I know that would be an easy commute to midtown! You might want to check out the Springlake and Wildwood neighborhoods in Buckhead (zip 30318) as they are fairly close to mid-town. My daughter actually went to preschool in midtown and it was about a 15 minute drive for us -- we had a 4 bed, 3100 sq foot house in your price range (I think we got lucky...those are hard to find in that area but it can be done!).

You would also be in a fantastic school district for young children -- Morris Brandon Elementary!! And you would have lots of neighborhood playgrounds to take advantage of!

I keep forgetting about Buckhead...I still have that old impression of it being extremely yuppie, "Beamer", etc. I think of the movie American Psycho, etc. But I believe it has largely shed that reputation.

You may ask where I GOT that impression...mostly from college grads wanting to "get a job, move to Buckhead, get a condo, get a 325i". I used to hear that a lot when I lived in Gwinnett from the young, just about to graduate....
