While you were at it, you should have given him the middle finger and thrown a scalding hot cup of coffee in his face.
No guts, no glory.

As others have said, consider this a life lesson. Getting along with those in power, and everyone, is important. Your member name also tells me something about you.

That doesn't mean that the boss was "right". You just have to learn what stake is worth dying on and when to "pick your time".

Look toward the future. Get busy applying for other jobs and remember that there are always three sides to a story. Attitude determines altitude.

Good luck to you!

Do not let your fear of being denied benefits stop you from filing. I had a horrible boss years ago and he finally fired me and I think on record he called it insubordination - although that is open to interpretation. I had no issue with collecting unemployment.

Theft, harassment etc - those are clear reasons where unemployment is often denied. Last time I looked at the Georgia Unemployment website (many years) they clearly state they cannot give general advise on whether you are eligible. You need to go ahead and file and they look at each case individually.

Pretty sleazy, but some employers are sleazy. One time they completely eliminated my position and then claimed I wasn't eligible.

Don't know the circumstances, but not taking abuse from the boss is not insubordination. Refusing to do a task is. And even that could be argued.
