I find him a more than suitable choice: Informed, engaging and responsive to his constituents.
It can be pay off for his endorsement of KLB during the run off, which is unethical.

It could certainly be taken that way, but if the pursuit of this violation is intended to bring down Mayor Bottoms, I simply don't see that happening in this instance.

I think the ban on political appointments is about influence and favoritism. There are any number of people (including some on this board) who'd probably make excellent senior policy advisors. $12,000 a month is a pretty hefty paycheck and only a little less than the mayor makes.

It almost sounds like a 'co-mayor' position.
In the end I think she should have run this through City Council as required (not doing so is bound to further compromise her relationship with them), but do I think some terrible wrong has been done to the citizens of Atlanta? No.
Pick your battles.

Well, Mayor Bottoms said she was not aware that Hall was on the city payroll as a senior adviser to her administration. Possibly he has been working from home and keeping an ultra low profile around City Hall.

However, I agree that a $12,000 a month payout isn't the end of the world. It comes out to the annual property taxes paid in by 20 or 30 little folks but probably isn't worth scrapping over in the big picture.

Further proof that KLB should have never gotten elected as Atlanta's mayor...

The Super Bowl junket was proof enough for me. She has the political instincts of a turnip.

Hall did come in 7th in the mayoral primary with 4% of the vote, so it could be argued that $12,000 a month is the least the taxpayers could do for him.
