I would say I definitely overcompensated for this in Atlanta, because our house in Forsyth Co was 4300 sq ft + 2200 sq ft basement. When we were house hunting, I definitely was targeting large homes. But after living there for a few years, my wife started to get anxiety from the pure size of the house (especially when I wasn't home). So we sold it (also because I didn't love the location).

We are still house hunting, and we'll surely downsize. The next home will likely still be pretty large though, because that's just the nature of the inventory in the northern burbs.

Where abouts in Boston did you grow up in? I grew up in and lived in Cambridge most of my life with my father. Small 2 bed/1 bath apartment.
