Gun violence hasn't slowed down in the city. Two more people killed. When will this stop?

Quote:
Two people were killed and two others were injured early Friday when gunfire erupted outside a house party in northwest Atlanta’s Vine City neighborhood, authorities said.

Quote:
Officers arrived at the scene and found two men between the ages of 18 and 20, he said. Both had been shot multiple times and died in the street.

Quote:
Family members of one of the victims killed gathered outside the house overnight and consoled each other in the street as investigators spoke with partygoers and collected shell casings from the scene. They told Channel 2 Action News one of the teens killed was a recent high school graduate.

It won’t stop. It will very likely get worse, perhaps much worse, and is the predictable consequence of elected officials making scapegoats of the police and throwing some police officers under the bus without due process or fairness. What unmitigated foolishness. We now have a situation where far fewer want to become police officers in the city and many existing city police officers are devising their exit strategies.

I thought it was just Atlanta, lol. San Diego is one exception though. People are still cartwheels and doing the happy dance on the streets there, lol.

The same thing that was happening about 5 years ago (The Ferguson Effect) under Obama's watch is happening again now. So much for making America great again. Bottom line is regardless of who is president, America will always be a violent and hostile society.

Not to get overly political but I can’t think of any city with rioting and increased gun violence that is either led by a Republican or moderate Democrat - all seem to be led by progressives.

Happy to be proved wrong here.

Actually Jacksonville, FL is one that I can think of that has a Republican mayor and it's pretty bad this year.

Sure you can blame her. just because other cities have done the same and suffered the consequences doesn’t validate what she does. She’s the mayor of Atlanta, not any other city so atlanta is her only concern.

Shootings at house parties are nothing new at all, this sort of thing was going on long before the pandemic. The police can't be on every single block in the City.

I stand by my post.
